#ThrowBackThursday: Five (POP)ular treats from your childhood
We take a look at five (POP)ular types of candies and snacks that were part of many childhood memories.
The evolution of children’s snacks has transformed incredibly over the years. What satisfied your grandparents’ taste-buds would not really tinkle your fancy, and what you believed was the best candy since sliced bread, won’t be appealing to your children.
We take a look at five (POP)ular types of candies and snacks that were part of many childhood memories.
1.Push-Pop

Aside from the amazing flavours they came in, the Push-Pop was a craze in its time. The fascination of pushing up a piece of candy through a plastic holder has not lost its humour and entertainment.

2. Ring-pop

Encouraging children to adorn edible jewellery since 1979. Ring-Pop nurtured young love and provided endless hours of flavour; this candy was the thing to have!
3. Drink-o-pop

Whether you ate the sherbert-like goodness straight out of the pack, or diluted it into two litres of water as instructed, this juice was amazing. The incredible flavours such as Bubblegum, Apple Sour and Iron Brew, was a sensation second to none.
4. Popping candy

Introduced to the market in 1975, popping candy has been a hit ever since. The crackling sound and tingly sensation in your mouth awakens your taste-buds. It has been produced in hard candy as well as chocolate bars.
5. Caramel popcorn

The combination of caramel and corn dates back to the 1890s with a strong molasses flavour. This was a treat at any birthday party, and satisfied the sweetest of teeth.
