Talented singer to perform at Ladysmith Show

Her dream is to study drama, acting and singing

Singing sensation 15-year-old Melanie Janse van Rensburg will be performing at the Ladysmith Show this year.

She is a Grade 10 learner in Pretoria, and has made many friends and fans through her angelic voice and great personality.

Originally from little old Ladysmith, this is not the first time our talented young singer will be performing at the Ladysmith Show… She is back this year by popular demand.

Her first CD was released in September last year, called ‘My Story’.

Melanie started singing at the age of eight. Her choir teacher at Monument Primary School, Anne Marie Boshoff, noticed her talent and encouraged her to sing solo.

Melanie then became the opening act for any big artists who visited Monument Primary School.

Ever since, her talent has broadened and she has struck out on her own to become a successful star in her own right.

She is well-known for her powerful voice and captivating stage presence.

Melanie has shared the stage with the likes of Lea, Bobby van Jaarsveldt, Willem Botha and many other artists, performing at shows and festivals all over the country.

Her vivaciousness and soaring voice have touched the hearts and souls of many, and she is sure to soar to even greater heights as the years go on. In addition, she excels at Speech & Drama and is currently busy with the SA International Championships for singing.

If she qualifies, she will be going to Los Angeles in July this year.

Aside from singing, Melanie is also a talented hockey player. She received her KZN Inland colours in 2014 and was vice-captain of her team. She got her Northern Transvaal colours for hockey in 2016 in Pretoria.

Her dream is to study drama, acting and singing.

“I really love singing and I enjoy performing,” says a bubbly Melanie.
