E3 2017 highlights: TECH TUESDAY

Gamers of all kinds wait eagerly for E3 to make or break their dreams. Here are some highlights from this year's event so far.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 has a special place in gamers’ hearts.

For many it’s a love/hate relationship, a balance between dreams realised and broken.

E3 Day One: What EA had to say

On Saturday, Electronic Arts (EA) unveiled Star Wars Battlefront II.

It releases in November with an original story and free post-release multiplayer DLC.

Madden 18 and FIFA 18 will both include single-player progressive campaigns.

Battlefield 1 DLC, In the name of the Tsar, is to include night maps and more armies.

A point of great interest was the announcement of Need for Speed Payback.

The official gameplay teaser is a thrilling mix of NFS: Most Wanted and Burnout.

 

 

Another highlight was a trailer for A Way Out.

Featuring co-op only gameplay, players must choose how they will escape from prison.

Finally, a teaser trailer for a new BioWare sci-fi series – Anthem – was dropped.

E3 Day Two: Microsoft and Bethesda join in

Microsoft launched the second day with the announcement of The Xbox One X.

It’s been dubbed the most powerful console to date: eight cores, liquid-cooled, 4K resolution.

Forza Motorsport 7 is to be released in October and features 700 (!) cars.

The setting for Assassin’s Creed: Origins was confirmed as ancient Egypt.

 

 

Bethesda’s late night conference revealed virtual reality incarnations of Doom and Fallout 4.

Billie and Daud return in Dishonored: Death of the Outsider.

The Evil Within 2 is sure to bring more psychological horror in October – Friday the 13th (spooky).

The nightmarish alternate reality of Nazi-controlled America continues with Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus.

E3 Day Three: Ubisoft, Sony and all things PC

PC Gamer and Intel hosted this event and many big names were dropped.

Notable titles include XCom 2, and Mount and Blade Bannerlord.

 

 

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be updated with improved mechanics, weather and maps.

Klei Entertainment unveiled Griftlands, a quirky sci-fi RPG.

Then came a remastered version of Age of Empires dubbed the Definitive Edition.

In perhaps the best of E3, Ubisoft kicked off with cross-over title Mario and Rabbids: Kingdom Battle.

The Crew 2 will continue its racing ways, with boats and planes in the mix.

 

 

Guests also got two explosive trailers for Far Cry 5, set in deep rural America.

In the day’s final conference, Sony played its hand.

Gran Turismo Sport releases somewhere around September to November.

The next instalment in the Uncharted series – The Lost Legacy – looks an impressive addition.

Acclaimed Shadow of the Colossus will be remastered for the PS4.

It wrapped up with trailers for Call of Duty: WWII and God of War 4.

Nintendo’s conference takes place later today and will wrap up E3 for this year.
