360 Boyz Freedom Day Spin Bash a roaring success – (Gallery)
Adding to the excitement were guest appearances from legendary spinner, Eddie Rasta, Capetown's speed junkie, Uncle Loeks and a day filled with laughter with petrol-head Victor Pardal, who was the emcee of the day.
Spinners and showmen from far and wide gathered for the highly successful launch of Spin City at the recent 360 Boyz Freedom Day Spin Bash.
With the smell of burning rubber in the air, the day was filled with adrenaline-fueled entertainment, as spinners took to the track competing for first place to prove who the ultimate spinner would be.

Spinners came to a burning halt as the results were determined and the winners announced at the end of the event.
South Side Crew’s Veejaro spun himself into first place, while Luke Williamson landed in a close second place, and Team Slado coming up just short in third place.
The winners received their fair share of the R10 000 prize money.
Preshu Singh of 360 Boyz and his wife, Octavia, thanked DHM Manufacturers, Coin It and Cosmic Transport for being ultimate sponsors of the day.
“Thank you for coming on board and for investing so much into our sport. Malcolm de Beer and his family made it possible to establish the now permanent Newcastle Spin City, which is located at DHM Manufacturers Newcastle Branch at 1 Diesel Road (Old Venco). Team Chronic Bass also hosted a ‘Show and Shine’ and Sound Competition on the day, whereby bass enthusiasts put their gear to the test to determine who’s speakers produced the loudest sounds and best bass and of course, whose car had the looks to kill.

The results were as follows:
Team WTF GTI was awarded the overall winner in the ‘Show and Shine’ Division.
Team Sound Freaks of Ladysmith was awarded first place for being the loudest car in the Sound Division. Dr V. Cassim was awarded second place and Streetwire’s elite Mini came in third.

April 28 saw the launch of Spin City, which was fully funded by DHM, Coin It and Cosmic Transport.
Managing director, Malcolm de Beer and his wife Patricia, were at the forefront of establishing this brilliant spinning track, and hosting the first ever spinning event at DHM Newcastle. The company also engaged the services of 360 Boyz to assist with the arrangements.
“This event attracted competitors from various parts of South Africa, and saw spinning celebrities from all walks of life participating at the event. There was also a ‘Show and Shine’ and sound competition.
The de Beers said the event was highly successful, with thousands of spectators in attendance. This made them proud to announce future events at DHM would be a regular occurrence, and said fans could look forward to an exciting Newcastle in the near future.
