#TipsTuesday: Owning motherhood like a boss
Motherhood might change your life, but it doesn’t need to change you!

Before motherhood, you had a fun and exciting life.

You went to the gym, read a book, had an afternoon run and cleaned your home on your own time.
However, becoming a mom changes things and suddenly you’re left feeling like you have little to no time to yourself.
But this should not be the case.

Just because you’re a mother, does not mean you should forget or neglect the things that made you, you!
Here are five ways to own motherhood like a boss without losing yourself in the process:
Include your child in your favourite hobby:

Give them their own set of crayons, paint or garden forks and allow them to also express their creative side.
Not only is this relaxing for you, but it also allows you to bond with your child.
Sing to your favourite beats while cleaning your home:

Chores can be a shlep.
So, why don’t you amp it up and sing and dance along to your favourite beats while getting the house cleaned up.
Your child will also have a blast helping you.
Another bonus point for this idea is the fact that singing and dancing makes you happy, therefore keeping you from entering into a phase of depression.
Consider it a win-win situation.

Get your daily exercise in the comfort of your own home:

Exercise is a very important role in one’s daily routine, whether you spend time at a gym or just walk around the block.
Get your child to walk with you, and if this isn’t an option, there is a wide variety of home fitness programmes which will make for a fun and entertaining home workout.
Aside from the workout, you and your child will have a blast, laughing at the top of your lungs during your work out.
Make time for mommy time:

Yes, you are a mother, and naturally your priorities have shifted.
However, this does not mean you need to forget about yourself.
Motherhood is a tiring career, and it is important to remember to take a time-out every now and again and just have some mommy time.
Catch up on your favourite book while relaxing in a warm bubble bath, while dad takes his turn doing an hour or two’s pyjama patrol.
Arrange a mom’s night out:

Leave baby with granny for a night and go and have some fun.
Go see a movie or arrange a girl’s night out, but for your own sanity, just go out!
You are allowed to experience the pleasures of life without feeling guilty, and besides, granny wont mind spending that little ‘alone time’ with the baby.
So, there you have it!
Motherhood might change your life, but it doesn’t need to change you!
