Amazing Race Dundee – Here’s how you would plan the race:

we asked and you answered...here's the Amazing Race, Dundee style

Do you love the Amazing Race? Would you like to take part in it?

We asked you to describe how you think tasks would have to be performed if the race were run in Dundee, and here’s what you had to say:

Chris Hunt:
I think they should have to find a specific item in an embarrassing situation.

Thobile Kareem:
Wow! I can just imagine how fantastic and great it would be. As a fan of the Amazing Race, I’ve always wondered myself how it would be if it was played in other countries. If it were to be in Dundee, it would be amazing and very exciting. I would definitely want to take part in it.

David Fritz:
They should have a party in Coronation Park and then pick up the litter afterwards.

Lindphores Ntuli:
They should take them to Natal Spar and then take them to the Royal Hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Hailene Van Der Westhuizen:
That would be interesting and fun for a small place like Dundee. I think they should sweep the road at a certain place and collect the dirt to find their next clue hidden in there.

Nobuhle Mbatha:
They would be asked to go to Talana Museum and find the tombstones of some of the soldiers.

Vahini Sheobalak:
1. A course set up at the Battlefields
2. A game drive at Ingudlane Lodge where they will have to find certain animals
3. The Detour – They must either make weave baskets or attend an art class at Dundee High school
4. End with activities at Talana Museum, which will also be the pit stop.

And our favourite…

Heidemarie Swanepoel:
When the teams arrive in Dundee they can take part in a few challenges. First off they would have to arrive at Talana Museum. Here they will take part in a re-enactment battle in full military dress. They can choose if they are on the British, Zulu or Boer teams. They will have to pull a cannon up to the top of Talana and then fight their war. After this they can make their way to Orange Grove Dairy and learn to milk a cow by hand, preferably producing at least 2 liters of milk. The winner of the previous round could win a pass to rather milk two cows by machine. Then the teams can make their way to Coronation Park, where they will be issued with a black bag to fill. As soon as it is full, they can make their way to the pitstop which is back at the Zulu Village at Talana.
They will be required to drink a keg of Umqombothi, and eat walkie talkies.
They will need the refreshment after the fierce battles and cleanup. They will sleep at the Zulu Village on the traditional mats and enjoy more campfire and dancing and true Dundee hospitality.
