Best indoor games to beat holiday boredom
Here are a few indoor games to keep your children occupied during the winter school holidays:

1. Pencil and paper games
Gather some pencils and paper and get started. You can play X’s and O’s or test your knowledge with alphabetically naming animals, colours and even fruits and vegetables. These games will beat watching television on any rainy day.

2. Building
You don’t need a fancy Lego set for this one. You can make ice-cream stick cities, card or toilet roll towers, even buildings out of blocks, or indoor forts out of boxes or pillows, will do just fine. If you want to get competitive, whoever builds the highest or coolest tower wins.
3. Cup shuffle
Simply place a coin under one of three cups and shuffle the cups around. Shuffle it around multiple times and see if your children can point out under which cup the coin is.
4. Card games
Card games are great for challenging young minds and creating hours of indoor fun. Grab a box of cards and play games such as crazy eights, go fish, war and so many more.
5. Puzzles
Exercise those creative, and problem-solving muscles with a good puzzle. You can use a store-bought variety or make your very own. Have your children draw a picture on a sturdy piece of cardboard. Then use a pencil to outline puzzle pieces directly on their drawing. Cut out the pieces with a pair of safety scissors, mix them up and get solving.
