Pageant success for Renisha

Renisha is no stranger to pageants and has been entering them from an early age

Endumeni has been blessed with many talented young ladies who have gone on to make the area proud in pageants.

Renisha Autar is part of the new generation making headlines and turning heads.
The 16-year-old recently won the Miss Teen India SA pageant in Durban, a major achievement considering that she was the only entrant from outside of the Durban area. Renisha saw the pageant advertised in a newspaper and decided to enter, as she would be in Durban that weekend anyway. What a decision it proved to be. Renisha wowed the judges and took home the crown.

Renisha is no stranger to pageants and has been entering them from an early age. She finished in the Top 5 for the Miss Umzinyathi event this year, but winning Miss Teen India SA was her crowning glory.
It may have been a bigger stage, but that didn’t stop Renisha or make her nervous. “Pageants give you self-confidence, so I wasn’t nervous or had stage fright.”

For her talent, Renisha performed a modern Bollywood dance, wowing the crowds in the process. Modelling and dancing have been two passions of hers growing up, and so performing them during the pageant came naturally.
An animal lover and aspiring lawyer, Renisha had sound advice for other youngsters from small towns. “Just because you’re from a small town, it doesn’t mean you have to dream small. Always dream big,” she said.

“All that glitters isn’t always gold. People will pull you down when you’re on top, but don’t let that stop you,” Renisha added.

Renisha thanked her parents, Rajesh and Reshma, brother Renesh, grandfather Mohan and aunt and uncle, Pravesh and Shakira for all their support.

With big dreams and even bigger potential, the sky is the limit for Renisha.
