DUNDEE: Squash players in top gear for club champs

It is heart-warming to see everyone donating with such generosity to the SPCA

It has been very busy at the squash courts these last few weeks. Players have finished their second and final squash league for the year before the championships.

The OK Value League started off with a lot of excitement, as people were keen to get back on the courts after a long lockdown.

The OK Value squash prize-giving will be held on Thursday, November 12. On Saturday, Dundee SPCA hosted their annual SPCA Golf Day at DCC and the squash players were pleased to hand over the “fruits of the players’ labour”.

A few leagues ago, the squash committee realised that there was a problem with swearing on the courts. It was decided to fine players for any bad behaviour on the court during a league game. All the proceeds would go to the SPCA.

Just under R3000 was raised and was able to provide them with a sizable food donation. Many thanks to the members for their generous ‘donations’ by contributing with their bad behaviour on the court. It is heart-warming to see everyone donating with such generosity.

Thanks to Charlies Superspar for sponsoring the 2020 Squash Championships. All members are invited to enter the biggest event of the year. Entries closed on November 11, with games scheduled to start on November 16.
