Public’s assistance asked in tracing suspects involved at casino robbery
An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the safe during the robbery.
Parys detectives are seeking assistance from the public to trace the suspects involved in a business robbery that occurred in Parys yesterday.
It is alleged that on Friday, November 21, at about 09:15, a male and two female employees of the Chillnett Internet Cafe/Casino, arrived at the business premises in Father Balink Street. As they entered the store, the male employee was forced into the store by an unknown male speaking Sesotho and IsiZulu, who held a metal object which felt like a firearm to his neck, says police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani.
Rani says upon entering, the male employee was tied up with cable ties and placed at the back bathroom, while the two ladies were taken to the office where they were also tied up with cable ties.
The suspect managed to open the safe, take an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled the scene on foot, leaving the three employees locked in the store until they were able to call for help.
The Parys police request that anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts to contact Detective Warrant Officer Brian Van Rensberg on 082 466 8094, or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 alternatively submit an anonymous tip-off via MySAPS App.
