Police seek public’s help to identify young girl found in Tumahole
Urgent care for the child was needed when she was found.
Free State police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a young girl, believed to be about six years old, who was found alone in Tumahole on Saturday morning, November 29.
According to Lieutenant General Thabo Covane, police officers from the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Tumahole, Parys were called to an area near Koloane Street after a passer-by discovered the child and alerted authorities. At this stage, no missing-person reports matching her description have been filed at any police station in Parys or surrounding areas.
The child, who required urgent care, was wearing a grey jersey with a blue star on the front, a red shirt, and navy leggings. Police also noted that her underwear was labelled “happy boy,” which could assist in identifying her.
She is currently receiving care from the FCS Unit in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
Police urge anyone who may recognise the child or have information that could help identify her or locate her family to contact their nearest police station immediately.
