This year’s ever-popular Valentines Runs will be held on Valentines Day itself, Tuesday 14 February at Parys Golf and Country Estate (PGCE), starting at 18:15.
There are two runs, the 10 km Night Run and the 5 km Romantic Fun Run. The start is at the boathouse at the far end of the PGCE estate. Walkers are welcome to take part in the 5 km event. Participants in this run should wear red or dress up in fancy dress.
The course loops along the gravel path along the beautiful Vaal River, along the roads within the estate to a viewpoint and back to the boathouse. 10 km runners do two loops. It is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs but there are some rough sections.
Refreshments will be available at the boat house or entrants can book a romantic Valentine’s buffet at the clubhouse for R120 pp. Bookings are essential.
There is a prize for the best-dressed man and woman or couple in fancy dress.
Entry fees are R60 for the 10 km run;  R30 for adults taking part in the 5 km run and R20 for children.
To enter, download the application form from https://domerunners.vdome.co.za/valentines-2/ or go to the boathouse on the day. Full details are on the website. This is a joint fundraiser for Epilepsy SA and the Rotary Club, Parys.
