Congratulations to Lazarus Dithagiso, Sedibeng Ster and Vaalweekblad photo journalist. He made MooiVaal Media proud – again – when he won an award during the MDDA Sanlam Best Photographer News of 2014. Here he receives the award from Minister of Communication, Faith Muthambi, a keynote speaker at the awards ceremony hosted at the Emperor’s Palace Hotel over the weekend. Vaalweekblad sports journalist Ettienne van Rensburg clinched a finalists’ certificate. The minister thanks all journalists from both printing and the broadcasting for showing interest by entering the competition. She said the media is here to keep the government and the communities on their toes as they are the ears, eyes and mouths of the communities adding that the media always reports fairly with honesty and without biasd.
