According to the police, a man from Fochville had visited the cave with friends at around 16:30.
The cave is located in the veld close to this road, less than a kilometre from the four-way crossing at the 007 shopping complex. It is, apparently, well-known to people in the area.
While walking through the cave, the men stumbled upon the body of what is believed to be a man inside.
The person was clothed in a very dirty pair of trousers and several jackets.
The men immediately reported the gruesome find at the Carletonville Police Station.
At the time of going to print, it was still not clear when the man had died. The police are currently investigating an inquest case. Anyone with information can call 083 393 1909.
