Four arrested for stock theft

Four suspects, Paki Paulos (33), Themba Manis (22), Serame Mohaka (43), and Leslie Hayo (46), appeared in the Heilbron Magistrate Court again on Wednesday 29 January for a formal bail application.
According to the office of the Provincial Police Commissioner in the Free State, it is alleged that on Tuesday 21 January at about 07:30 Mr. Bosman, the owner of Franshoek farm was at his farm when he noticed an unknown Nissan bakkie with a trailer stuck in his neighbour’s yard carrying his cattle.
The suspects then saw the owner and decided to flee the scene on foot, letting the cattle loose.
The owner contacted the police. On arrival the police chase the suspects and managed to arrest four suspects.
The value of the recovered cattle (8) is R150 000. A Nissan bakkie and trailer were also confiscated by the police.
