Vandalism and theft causes electricity outage

Parts of Schonkenville has been without electricity this morning (Wednesday 12 August) due to cable theft and vandalism at the Schonkenville mini substation.

According to Ngwathe’s acting technical director, Mr Henk Coetzer, the theft has been reported to the police and the technical team is attending to the damage at the mini substation.

The extent of the damage was not yet confirmed at the time of  publishing of this report, but it is estimated that electricity supply will be restored soon.
