Ntshwephepa runners take their dreams to the next level
Next year, the school looks forward to entering an even bigger team, determined to continue running not just for medals, but for hope, pride, and a testimony of faith fulfilled.
What started as a humble journey of hope and determination has blossomed into a testimony of faith, community support, and incredible achievement for the cross-country athletes of Ntshwephepa Primary School.
After the heartfelt appeal for second-hand running shoes earlier this year, the athletes and coaches prayed and trusted that God would provide.
Their prayers were answered when Mr and Mrs Mdluli donated two pairs of running shoes, and Every Nation Faith Church donated eight pairs, along with socks — not used, but brand-new. This meant that all ten learners received proper running shoes for the very first time. The joy and gratitude in the athletes’ hearts could not be contained.
The blessings didn’t stop there. Equipped with proper shoes, seven of the ten runners went on to qualify for, and represent Ntshwephepa at the Free State Provincial Cross-Country Championships in Bloemfontein on August 9.

Against strong competition, one of their own, Lebohang Mokoetli, achieved what seemed impossible — a coveted spot on the provincial team that will compete at the ASA National Cross-Country Championships in Middelburg during September.

To make this dream even more complete, an anonymous donor generously provided Lebohang with clothing for the Nationals, ensuring that nothing stands in her way.
The school and community stand in awe of what has been achieved in such a short time.
“This would not have been possible without the kindness of those who opened their hearts and blessed our learners,” said the school principal, Mr. Moloantoa. “We give all glory to our Lord Jesus Christ for His provision.”
Since introducing cross-country at Ntshwephepa Primary, the programme has grown rapidly, with more learners joining training sessions daily. Beyond competition, the sport has given hope, discipline, and purpose — keeping children off the streets and focused on brighter futures.
