Ngwathe councillors receive recognition in SALGA working groups

All municipalities in the Free State are represented in the SALGA working groups.

Three councillors of the Ngwathe Local Municipallity receved recognition for best performance, attendance and participation in the South African Local Government Association’s (SALGA)working groups. The award ceremony was held during September at the SALGA Free State Provincial Members Assembly in Clarens.

The Ngwathe councillors who were honoured by SALGA are Cllr Sipho Nthoesane (Ward 19), who received his award as Best Councillor in the Free State Climate and Environmental Change Working Goup,, Ngwathe’s Speaker, Cllr Neheng Mopedi who was honoured for participation in the Governance and Intergovernmental Relations Working Group, and Cllr Thabo Sothoane, serving in the Municipal Digital Transformation Working Group.

All municipalities in the Free State are represented in the working groups, and serve together with technical advisers, Mr Jonas Ramokhoase said.
