13 medals for Trampoline Club after National Championships

Hard work paid off for trampoline gymnasts from Parys who recently participated at the national championships.

Thirteen medals – two gold, seven silver, and four bronze – were brought home by the 12 gymnasts form Parys 20 Four 7 Trampoline Club who competed at the SA Trampoline Gymnastics Championships.

The national tournament was held in Port Elizabeth from October 7-10.

Club owner Charmain van Niekerk praised the team, “They went to shine, and that’s exactly what they did!”

Van Niekerk added that the gymnasts delivered outstanding performances, with 21 achieving top 10 positions, and 17 securing top five spots out of 23 items for the week.

High performance coaches Star Mapeka, and Thato Machobane, who also served as a national judge, echoed her sentiments, saying they are incredibly proud of every gymnast.
