Veterans show their charm

Vehicle owners showed their pride of yesteryear in Parys the past weekend.

Classic cars drew attention to Cherry Square the past weekend, where proud owners showcased their pride from yesteryear.

The event was organised by Pickled Pig and Luke Snyman in conjunction with Leon van Schalkwyk of the Veteraan Motors Geselskap.

Kat van Rensburg’s 1942 Dodge won the Engine Bay award, with Hennie van der Merwe’s DKW rewarded as Car of the Day.

Luke Snyman’s 1928 Ford Model A Hot Rod impressed the most with modifications done, while Rika Pretorius’ 1971 Hippy Kombi won the Public’s Choice Award.


The prize for the Most Original Classic Car went to Cristo du Plooy’s Orange Volkswagen.

Rudi Janssen’s Blue Volkswagen received the Early Bird reward – a Unicorn Mandala, sponsored by Janet Smith from Eastern Mosaic.

Patina look prize went to Francois Smith for his Chev C10, while Craig Pienaar received the Hosting Award for his Cortina bakkie.
