Cross Country runners from all over the Free State districts will gather in Bloemfontein this Saturday to compete for a spot on the AFS Provincial Cross Country Running team.
This year, AFS Fezile Dabi Cross Country will be sending 145 top athletes that will represent their schools and clubs.
This follows after the AFS Fezile Dabi Cross Country Running League, presented by Parys Multisport, was concluded on July 20 at Koedoeslaagte. The series consisted of six rounds that took place from May to July and hosted a total of 400 athletes, 39 clubs and schools, and 46 age categories ranging from 6 to 75 years.
The Fezile Dabi Cross Country League is one of seven cross country districts in the Free State.

“I am looking forward to the provincial championship with great anticipation. Fezile Dabi is sending a very strong team to provincials and we expect to see a very positive outcome”, says Pierre Fourie, organiser of the Fezile Dabi League.
“Koedoeslaagte offers an authentic Cross Country running experience and athletes who did well at our league are equipped and able to face any challenge they may come across on the provincial and national courses,” Fourie concluded.

Athletes who get selected for the provincial team after this weekend’s championship, will represent the Free State at the ASA Cross Country Running National Championship on September 7 in Vanderbijlpark. Parys Multisport thanks the sponsors of this year’s league and wishes the athletes all the best as they prepare for the final big races of the season.
