Thandeka counting the days to the Grand Final for Miss Grand SA

The Preliminary Competition is on June 19, and the Grand Final on June 20.

Thandeka Zibuta, proud representative from Parys in the Free State, will be on the stage on June 20 at the Heartfelt Arena Theatre for the Grand Final of the Miss GRAND South Africa 2026.

“Beyond the crown, I am a young woman passionate about purpose, service, and creating real impact in my community,” says Thandeka.

Her advocacy focuses on Gender Based violence, child abuse, and youth empowerment, especially for young people in smaller towns who often feel unseen. This aligns deeply with the vision of Miss Grand South Africa to uplift, inspire, and serve.

“MGSA is not just about beauty; it’s about being a voice for the voiceless and a vessel for change. Through this platform, I aim to break stigmas around mental health and remind every young person that their story matters,” Thandeka told Gazette only days before the Grand Final.

As the only finalist representing the Free State this year, she called on the community of Parys and across the province to stand with her. “Together, we can bring the crown home and show South Africa the strength of the Free State. I completed all my tasks, and now I hope and pray that your votes will take me to the top 12,” Thandeka said.

“This is more than a pageant for me. It’s a movement. And I’m ready to serve”, Thandeka added.

Message from Thandeka

Family, friends, my voters, my sponsors, you’ve been holding me up since January 5, and I don’t think you realize how much that means to me.

You saw me on the days I doubted myself. You reminded me why I started this Phoenix journey in the first place. This crown chase isn’t just about me. It’s about every message, every vote, every “you’ve got this” that kept me going.

I’m walking into Miss Grand South Africa 2026 competition carrying all of you with me. Thank you for believing, for staying, and for rising with me.

We’re not done yet. Let’s finish this together.

Thank you Lord, for carrying me since day one. I wouldn’t be standing here without Your strength, Your grace, and Your mercy, which is more than enough for me.
