Police asks public’s assistance to sought person of interest in Tumahole rape case

The Tumahole Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is requesting assistance from the public in identifying and locating a person of interest in connection with a rape case under investigation.

It is alleged that on Sunday, August 9, at approximately 03:00, the complainant was outside a tavern looking for her friend when she was approached from behind by an unknown male. The suspect allegedly threatened and grabbed her before pulling her to a dark and secluded area, where he raped her. Following the incident, the suspect then fled the scene.

The police request that anyone who may have information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the person depicted on the photograph is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Mamokete Sehume on 016 974 6287 or 079 415 0535. Alternatively, members of the public can contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or submit an anonymous tip-off through the MySAPS App.
