The fleet includes a bus, smooth drum roller, compactor truck and four bakkies.

The MEC for COGTA and Human Settlements, Saki Mokoena, today (August 22) officially handed over a new municipal service delivery fleet to the Ngwathe Local Municipality.

The handover forms part of efforts to strengthen the municipality’s capacity to provide reliable and effective services to communities in all Ngwathe towns.

The new fleet, valued at R8,4 million includes a bus to support municipal transport needs, smooth drum roller, compactor truck and four bakkies. These vehicles and equipment will support the municipality in carrying out essential services more efficiently.

The new equipment will assist the municipality with road maintenance, infrastructure repairs, and other day-to-day municipal services.

The handover of the fleet to Ngwathe is part of COGTA and Human Settlements’ continues commitment to empowering local municipalities and ensuring effective service delivery for all residents, the MEC said.

”Equipping our local municipalities with the right tools and resources is essential for efficient governance, proactive maintenance, and consistent community support. This fleet deployment ensures that municipal workers are better equipped to respond to service delivery needs promptly and effectively across Ngwathe,” the MEC said.

The handover was attended by the Municipal Manager, Dr F.P Mothamaha and senior management of Ngwathe.
