Age just a number says 63 year old athlete

Congratulations to all the atletes who participated.

For 63-year-old Mamokete Dorcas Sekete, age is just a number. Sekete won the N12 Ultra Marathon, held between Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp on May 3 in a finishing time of 01:18:15. This marked her fourth consecutive win of the annual 10km race. She participated in the category for women 60-69 years.

Sekete runs in the colours of Parys Multisport and is coached by Pierre Fourie. For her, running is a form of exercise. “It keeps one healthy and slows down rapid ageing,” she says. Her advice: “Start today, you will not regret it.”
