Local Government Elections: This is how contestants appear on the ballot
South African citizens will cast their vote in the local government elections on November 4.

The number of contestants in an election determines how the ballot paper is laid out. For the coming Local Government Elections on November 4, a two-column ballot will be used.
To randomise the party occupying the top position on the ballot, a draw was conducted and the party selected in the draw determined where the alphabetical sequence begins. For example, if a party in the Z alphabet cluster is selected through the draw, the ballot will begin with parties in the Z cluster before continuing through the alphabet.
Knowing how your ballot is structured can help you navigate it with confidence on Election Day.

Remember your vote should be based on information you can trust.
Disinformation can distort public debate, mislead voters and undermine confidence in the electoral process.
The Disinformation Code strengthens the framework for protecting information integrity while preserving legitimate democratic debate.
