Star bowler brings home silver

The World Cup took place in Malaysia from January 18 to February 2 where 16 teams competed for first place.

This is Nthabiseng Nini (19), a matric student at Potchefstroom Technical High School, born & bred in Ikageng, Potchefstroom, who brought a new silver medal home to South Africa.

Nthabiseng competed in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2025 from January 18 to February 2 and earned a silver medal with her team.

South Africa almost had it in the bag, but on February 2 they lost to India.

Nthabiseng is a true inspiration to the community of Ikageng and Potchefstroom.

Nthabiseng has been playing cricket since 2017 and made her debut for the Dragon’s women’s team at 15, playing her first match for them in 2020. Two years ago, she won Young Player of the Year at the North West MEC Sports Awards hosted at Sun City.
