Steamed bread recipe

You can serve it hot or cold.

This Steamed bread recipe is not only easy to make, it will also go perfectly with you favourite stew or salad.

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cups flour
  • 2 Cups milk
  • ¼ Cup melted butter
  • ⅓ Cup sugar
  • 1 Cup grated carrots
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 Tsp instant yeast

Instructions:

  • In a medium bowl add flour, yeast, sugar and salt.
  • Whisk together, add butter and mix together using hands.
  • Add carrot and mix together.
  • Finally add milk and mix to form a dough until hands are not sticky.
  • Cover the dough until double in size or for 1 hour.
  • Turn on stove.
  • Prepare cups and grease inside the cups by using butter or cooking oil.
  • Pour up to half your mixed dough into the cups.
  • Add cold water in a pot and place your cups with mix inside the pot and close the lid.
  • Allow to cook for 30 – 40 minutes, check using long kebab stick and if it comes out dry then you know it’s cooked.
  • Set aside to cool.
  • Hit the bottom to take out your cooked steamed bread.
  • Slice and serve.
