Crime on the rise in Extension 11

A group of balaclava-masked men stabbed a man in the back and cheek in Ext. 11 at 21:45 on Saturday, 25 July.
According to the police report, while he was being stabbed, the others assaulted him with a baton on his left arm. It is alleged that his assailants fled with his belongings worth R2 249. The complainant was taken to Potch Hospital for medical assistance.
The body of a 27-year-old man was found in Extension 11 at 07:20 on Sunday, 26 July.
By the time the police arrived at the crime scene, Mr Moses Ramokadi from Potch Hospital’s emergency services had already declared the man dead. The victim had a scratch on his right cheek. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The commander of sector 3 will meet with the community in Sarafina Hall at 17:00 on Friday, 31 July to address gang-related crime in this area. The respective ward councillors have also been invited to attend the important meeting.
