The staff members, students and student representative council of CTI Potchefstroom campus  held a Cancer Awareness campaign on Friday 15 April. This came after Portia Magaxane, a student at CTI was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer.

Organisers sold cupcakes, pink lemonade and the pink ribbon that represents breast cancer to raise funds for Cansa Potchefstroom. The funds that they were able to generate were split between Cansa and Portia.

Room 103 was the place to be as it was here where Portia and Riana Kolbé, a Cansa representative, gave the students who came upstairs a bit more information on the disease.

The room was packed and students listened attentively to what was said and they thoroughly enjoyed Portia’s spoken word (poetry). All in all, the day was a huge success and the CTI students look forward to hosting more awareness campaigns in the future.
