Potchefstroom residents have been granted another opportunity to verify their addresses for where they are registered.
“This coming Saturday and Sunday, Potchefstroom voters are encouraged to take part in this registration correction campaign. No new voters will be registered but existing voters in Tlokwe will have the final opportunity to verify their addresses. From today, Thursday 7 July, groups of IEC officials will be going around to assist voters with questions and clarification issues,” says DA NW spokesperson, Nicolize van der Walt.
Van der Walt says the DA welcomes any measures that will assist the IEC to put out a credible and reliable voters’ roll.
“This coming weekend, we call upon all voters to go to the voting station where they are registered to ensure that their addresses are correct. This is an effort to adhere to the ConCourt ruling in which the IEC was ordered to get the voters’ roll in order.
“The DA is focussed on the 3 August when voters will have an opportunity to vote for change,” she said.
A Bakkie from the IEC was seen in Potchefstroom, announcing that the community will have another opportunity to verify their addresses.
