The indomitable Ikageng detective Sergeant Riana Keka has cracked another case of two robbers who committed four acts of robbery in Sarafina, Kanana, and Extension 7.
Last Friday, the robbers, 24-year-old Hendrick Jabulani Vetezo and 28-year-old Daniel Tumi Molapo were found guilty on four counts of robbery with a weapon other than a firearm and each sentenced to 24 years in prison.
The crimes were committed between August and October last year.
“In the first case, the pair robbed women aged 23 and 28 respectively and seized their cell phones.
In the second case, the criminals stabbed a 16-year-old boy and robbed him of his cell phone. The two assailants went on to stab a 17-year-old boy in the head, take his cell phone, cash and tackies and flee while he was bleeding. In the fourth and final case, the suspects were found not guilty of the crime after stabbing a 16-year-old boy in the shoulder and head and stealing his cell phone.
The mother of one of the suspects found the victim’s cell phone in one of the suspect’s room and gave it back,” Keka reported.
The two perpetrators were arrested after the witness and an informant assisted in identifying them.
Keka says Molapo was on parole for murder before the arrest.
