Pedestrian killed by truck on the N12

A man was fatally hit by a truck on the N12 near Ikageng, earlier today.

The victim believed to be 27 years old was found by the paramedics lying on the side of the road.

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing Harduth says upon an assessment of the man, it was found that he sustained severe injuries.

“Sadly there was nothing that could be done for him. He was declared dead. The truck driver was uninjured. The exact cause of the incident is unknown. The authorities were on scene for further investigations,” she said.
