What started as a fight over a child’s jersey ended tragically when a 38-year-old woman stabbed her 21-year-old neighbour to death in Ext. 11 on Monday.

According to the Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, WO Ishmael Mohutsiwa the neighbour was upset about a jersey that she lent the woman and that was never returned.
The two women argued about the jersey and it soon turned ugly.
‘A fight ensued during which the neighbour sank her teeth into the 38-year-old woman’s forehead, tearing her skin.
The injured woman then went to the house and came back with a knife and stabbed her neighbour in the right shoulder,’ Mohutsiwa reported.
Mohutsiwa says the police found the neighbour’s body covered with a blanket on the street at 19:30. He says the suspect was arrested and taken to the hospital for her injuries. She is currently under police guard in hospital after sustaining serious injuries to her face.
Mohutsiwa stressed that the life of a person has more worth than any material possessions. ‘People should learn to tolerate each other. Fighting does not build a community,’ he said.
