Four more pickets in Potch

The DA held four pickets on Wednesday in Steve Biko Street at the Bult area, Ventersdorp, and Riverwalk, in solidarity with tens of thousands of marchers from different parties who are marching to the Union Buildings to reiterate their stance that President Jacob Zuma must step down.

The DA pickets and the mass protest in Pretoria also coincided with President Jacob Zuma’s birthday. This is the second series of DA pickets following last Friday’s march and pickets throughout the country to exert pressure on Zuma to step down as the country’s president.
Glenville Fransman, the DA PR councillor says the picket in Potchefstroom was more of an awareness campaign with a petition demanding Zuma’s resignation.
He says about a hundred people signed the petition in Potchefstroom.
‘We also waved placards at passing motorists requesting them to hoot if they love their country,’ he said.
