Young boys allegedly raped

A 12-year-old boy, who was searching for 2-litre bottles in a playground in Ikageng last Friday morning, was allegedly raped by a 16-year-old.

A 12-year-old boy, who was searching for 2-litre bottles in a playground in Ikageng last Friday morning, was allegedly raped by a 16-year-old.
According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the Ikageng police spokesperson, he was with his cousin at about 09:30 on that morning when the suspect approached them. The suspect tried to separate the boys and asked the cousin to go and call his (the suspect’s) brother.
‘While the youngster was away, the teen grabbed the other boy, took out a knife. He then covered his mouth with a cloth and tied him up with a piece of rag. He then led him down a pathway, pushed him to the ground, undressed him and proceeded to rape him,’ said Trom.
While he was busy, he saw his brother walking towards them and fled.
In another incident, Trom says the Ikageng police are investigating the alleged rape of a 3-year-old boy by an unknown man at about 13:00 last Wednesday.
‘Neither of the suspects has been arrested as yet,’ she said.
