Two suspects allegedly rape woman at knifepoint

Two suspects, who are still at large in Ikageng, allegedly raped a 30-year-old woman in the early hours of Sunday after threatening to kill her.

Two suspects, who are still at large in Ikageng, allegedly raped a 30-year-old woman in the early hours of last Sunday after threatening to kill her.

According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the SAPS spokesperson, the woman was walking back from a pub at about 04:30 on Sunday morning when two men armed with a knife approached her.
‘The two unknown suspects came from behind and asked her where she was going. After she told them, one suddenly took out a knife and threatened to kill her if she screamed.
They dragged her behind the back rooms in one of the yards, undressed her and took turns raping her,’ said Trom.
Neither of the suspects has been arrested, she says.
Trom once again repeated the SAPS’s warning that community members, especially teenage girls, should avoid walking alone at night or in the early hours of the morning because it is very dangerous.
