The Ikageng police are investigating a murder case after a 34-year-old man stabbed his 27-year-old nephew to death in Ext. 11 at about 16:25 on Tuesday.
According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the SAPS spokesperson, the uncle used an unknown object that was found lying on the ground.
‘Upon their arrival, the police found the younger man dead. The uncle confirmed that he was the one who had stabbed him after they had had an argument and he was then arrested,’ reported Trom.
In last week’s Herald, the police reported that a Potchefstroom police trainee was involved in assaulting a 41-year-old policeman as he was cordoning the murder scene off. ‘Upon further investigation, the police found that he was not a police trainee,’ Trom said. ‘A 25-year-old suspect was subsequently arrested in connection with the attack and charged with assault GBH (grievous bodily harm).’
