Not only did an Ext. 11 family lose their 23-year-old son in a horrible hit and run accident, they also do not have the means to bury him.
Young boys found Lebogang Mahlapa’s badly mutilated body on the N12 on Thursday morning. A family member, Tebogo Sefaki’s account of what was left of his remains is too graphic to publish in a community newspaper.
The driver of the vehicle is believed to have fled the scene after hitting him on Wednesday night.
The family says they desperately need about R2000 just for the funeral service and food. Any other donations would be welcome.
The distraught mother, Sarkie Mahlapa says she was devastated to hear how her son had died. It is even worse not knowing how it had happened.
Lebogang worked as a contractor and was last seen going to the municipality to claim electricity for indigents.
Anyone in the community who would like to contribute to the burial of Lebogang, please contact Tlhalefang Sephuti on 083 513 2812 or Sarkie Mahlapa on 060 3387 933. Donations can also be left at the Potchefstroom Herald offices.
