The Ikageng police are investigating a rape case after a 13-year-old girl alleges that she was raped by different suspects in Marikana last Sunday and Monday, respectively.
According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the police spokesperson, the girl alleges that she went to the shop at about 13:00 last Sunday. As she went inside, a male whom she knows pulled her outside. ‘He and a friend dragged her to the open veld in Marikana, Promosa. They stripped her and made her lie on the ground. The suspect raped her while his friend pinned her down. When he had finished, he told her to go. The two have not been arrested,’ reported Trom.
The teen alleges that at about 14:00 on the following day, she went to a male friend who forced her to have sex with him. ‘When she refused, he pushed her onto the bed, stripped her and allegedly raped her,’ said Trom.
According to the victim’s statement, she went to another male friend at about 15:00 who also allegedly raped her. ‘None of the suspects has been arrested as the police are still investigating,’ said Trom.
