The Ikageng police are investigating a rape case after an uncle allegedly raped his 11-year-old niece last Friday.
‘According to the mother, she woke up at about 10:30 to find her daughter waiting for her at the shack door, complaining that her genitalia was sore. The girl usually sleeps in the RDP house with her 10-year-old brother and uncle, while the mother shares the shack with her boyfriend.
‘The girl told her mother that, while she was sleeping on the floor, their uncle came from his bed with a blanket. He then stripped her and raped her. Afterwards, he accompanied her to the toilet and told her not to tell anyone,’ reported Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the police spokesperson.
The police have not yet arrested the suspect.
