A fun-loving peacemaker met his end shortly after trying to break up a fight in Ext. 11 in the early hours of Saturday morning.

When Tebogo Makgetla (37) decided to buy cigarettes from a nearby tavern, he had no idea it would be the last time he would see his girlfriend.

He was on his way when he witnessed a fight between his friend and someone else. Tebogo tried to intervene when the stranger turned on him and bludgeoned him to a pulp.

Tebogo was an employee at Chubby Chick Premium since March 2015. After his untimely death, the company posted on their Facebook page: “We are devastated by the passing of our colleague and friend, Tebogo Makgetla. We will always remember you with a smile. Thank you for four years of jokes, laughter and hard work. Your place in our team is empty!”
