The Ikageng police have arrested a 26-year-old man, Lefa Phaoe in connection with the murder of Tebogo “Jomo” Makgetla (37).
Lefa is accused of murdering the father of three for trying to break up a fight in Ext. 11 in the early hours of Saturday morning.
According to NW police spokesperson, Capt. Aafje Botma, Lefa appeared before the Potchefstroom Magistrates’ court on Tuesday, 2 April. “The matter was postponed to 9 April. The suspect remains in custody,” she said.
Tebogo was an employee at Chubby Chick Premium since March 2015. After his untimely death, the company posted on their Facebook page: “We are devastated by the passing of our colleague and friend, Tebogo Makgetla. We will always remember you with a smile. Thank you for four years of jokes, laughter and hard work. Your place in our team is empty!”
