Farm murder – police discover body in bedroom

The police discovered the body of a man on a farm on the Noupoort road outside of Potchefstroom

The police discovered the body of a man on a farm on the Noupoort road outside of Potchefstroom. According to Colonel Adele Myburg, provincial police spokesperson, they were called to the scene on Monday, 22 April, at about 11:00.
The farmer who rents the farm was away for Easter weekend and a man was staying on the farm to look after it. A woman also went to the farm daily to feed the dogs. When she went to the farm on Monday morning, she noted that the front door of the house was open. She immediately called the police.
The police found the body of the 21-year-old man who looked after the farm in the main bedroom. The man had a wound to his head. He was allegedly shot in the face but the police could not yet confirm the exact cause of death. The man’s wrists and ankles were tied up when the body was found.
The suspects tried to open the safe inside the house, but failed. According to Myburg it seems that only the victim’s cell phone was stolen.
The police are investigating a case of murder. No one has been arrested yet.
