ALERT: Electricity will be off on Sunday

Eskom plans to do urgent repairs on their 132 kV overhead network on Sunday, 13 October.

Between 05:00 and 18:00, the electricity will be switched off. However, the electrical installation must be treated as live, at all times. For the reason that the electricity can be switched on at any time, or might not be switched off at all.

The switching points that need to be switched off are:

• Ikageng West Substation (although it is not operational yet)
• The Central Business District (CBD) substation.

The areas that will be affected are:

1. Vyfhoek Plots rural area
2. Mooivallei Plots rural area
3. Elandsheuwel Plots rural area
4. Old Bailie Park
5. New Bailie Park and the new surrounding extensions
6. Grimbeeckpark
7. Van der Hoffpark and the new extensions
8. CBD area, East of Walter Sisulu Street
9. The Bult area, East of the Railroad
10. The Dam area
11. North West University Engineering complex
12. Waterberry
13. Tuscany Ridge
14. Dagbreek Hoewes
15. Helderzight
16. Sanitas Plots rural area
17. Del Hand
18. Renico development
