The 37-year-old father, a suspect for allegedly raping his 15-year-old daughter, has been granted bail.
The father appeared at the Potchefstroom Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 27 February 2020, for his formal bail hearing, where his application was approved for R 1, 000.
He will reappear at the court on 3 April 2020.
According to the court, the daughter wrote in her statement that the incident allegedly happed in October 2019. However, she did not report the matter to her mother immediately.
She only informed her mother about the alleged incident, on 12 January 2020. They then went to Thuthuzela Care Centre and afterward, the case was opened.
