There are 185 new confimed cases in Department of Education recorded between 2 July, and 9 July.
In a statement, between 2 July and 8 July, 130 cases were recorded.

- Dr. Ruth Segomotsi Mompati – 6
- Bojanala district – 70
On Thursday, 9 July, 55 new cases were reported.

- Ngaka Modiri Molema district – 7
- Bojanala district – 34
“One of the cases is an official in the office of the MEC who is reportedly in isolation at home,” Malindi added.
North West MEC of Education, Mmaphefo Matsemela, encourages the school community to continue adhering to the regulations and to be safe during this period.
“These are reportedly tough times as we are in the winter season and I wish to constantly send a word of encouragement to our staff, learners and by extension to the parents to continue sanitizing, keeping physical and social distance as well to read more about the virus so that we can be alert of the danger we are posed with. I also wish for a full recovery to all those infected. Together, in adherence we can beat Covid-19”, said MEC Matsemela.
In total, the number of cases in the Provincial Department of Education is 361.
MEC Matsemela encouraged learners and departmental officials to remain in their homes after school, in order to restrict the spread of the Coronavirus. She also added that there psycho-social support services available for those infected and their affected families.
