After a year of renovations, CSA Fire and Safety celebrated the grand opening of their new office space on 1 and 2 October, when stakeholders, clients and employees joined the celebration of this massive milestone.
Chris Abrahams, the owner of the CSA Group, said although fewer people than he expected attended, due to the gloomy weather, he appreciated every person who took the time to make it.
“It’s not about quantity but more about the quality of the people present,” he said. “Covid hit us hard and we struggled a lot but, through God’s guidance, it’s surreal that we are finally here in celebration of this journey.”
When Chris started the business in 2019, Johannes Sechaba Melamu and Graham Arends were alongside him. Things were extremely tough in the beginning. The enterprise, which started with just three men, now employs 47 people with a branch in Welkom and another in the Northern Cape soon.

“We struggled a lot but were always hopeful that there would be light at the end of the tunnel,” Sechaba said. “With the new office space, we can only expect new and exciting things to happen. I am looking forward to the moments to come.”
Chris’ wife of six years, Loreal Abrahams, says she had always encouraged her husband to start his own business because she saw great potential in him. “My husband is extremely hardworking. Although none of this comes as a surprise to me, I am extremely proud and happy to witness the man he has become,” she said.
“Sometimes, our time as a family was compromised because he was always working on his laptop late at night, but I always believed it would all pay off.”
To solidify the moment, Chris let his father, Clifford Abrahams, who has always been a great supporter, cut the ribbon. “I am extremely proud of my son and we are grateful for all of you who have come to celebrate this moment with us,” he said.

Employees describe Chris as an easy-going person who is an absolute joy to have as an employer. They wish him nothing but the best from here, on.

Localised systems are fixed foam mist or water mist systems. This is the perfect system, due to its properties/ability to break down water droplets to mist, providing a cooling effect and suppressing the fire. From deluge to self-contained suppression systems to protect electrical substations, transformers, conveyor belts, lubrication units, server rooms and more. They also offer mobile fire station solutions for informal settlements.
Fire detection and control equipment
CSA supmentplies, instals and maintains a wide range of approved fire detection and control equipment. From very early smoke detection systems, aspiration detection, flame detection and explosion detection equipment to emergency evacuation systems.
Vehicle systems
Their Ansul vehicle suppression is a pre-engineered FM-approved system that efficiently suppresses fires and cools down risk areas. The system is designed to mitigate the risk of reignition and protects from vehicle engine bays, hydraulic lines and filtration systems.
Conveyor systems
CSA offers a complete conveyor protection system. The solution consists of primary and secondary risk protection systems. High-risk areas like pulleys, bearing blocks and motors form part of the primary risk and are protected with a misting solution that meets NFPA system guidelines.
Ansul kitchen fire suppression system
Ansul kitchen systems provide the best possible fire protection in one of the highest risk areas, saving lives and property. This fire protection system is a pre-engineered FM- approved system that can be used to protect domestic, hospitality, restaurant and commercial kitchens.
