Over 200 suspects arrested during festive season
In an effort to safeguard society in fighting crime during this festive season and to ensure overall stability in the country, police in the province arrested 251 suspects between 22 November and Monday morning, 6 December 2021.

In an effort to safeguard society in fighting crime during this festive season and to ensure overall stability in the country, police in the province arrested 251 suspects between 22 November and Monday morning, 6 December 2021.
The suspects were arrested for contact crimes, property-related crimes, crimes detected as a result of police action and many others during the joint Safer Festive Season Operations conducted in the province.
Furthermore, awareness activities and police actions focusing on the prevention of crimes against vulnerable groups including Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) as well as aggravated robberies are being held jointly with members of the community in Blue initiative and Community Patrollers to sensitise the public about their safety and security.
The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena assured members of the community that South African Police Service (SAPS) members in the province in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, are committed to ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all South African citizens during the festive season.
