According to Captain Botma, police spokesperson, the boy was swimming with his friend when he drowned.
“When the incident happened his friend rushed to call the parents of the deceased and that’s when help was called onto the scene,” she said. “SAP divers, unfortunately, discovered that the boy had died on the scene. An inquest is being investigated,” she added. Mooirivier Protection’s First Responder, ER24, Potchefstroom Fire Department and SAP were on the scene.
